Heroic Hearts Project
The Heroic Hearts Project exists to help veterans and their loved ones heal from the impacts of military trauma by providing and expanding access to effective, life-saving psychedelic care. Our training focuses on our established process, which addresses the urgent needs of the veteran community while driving long-term change to make this care more widely available.

Our training programs change that.
When veterans run out of options, Heroic Hearts steps in with a path forward.
We help veterans and their loved ones access legal, safe, and effective psychedelic programs designed to reduce suffering, restore connection, and rebuild lives.
You’re stepping into a community built by veterans, for veterans, and grounded in hope.

Self-care and Resilience
The Heroic Hearts Process recognizes that ethical psychedelic practitioners are deeply committed to their own personal work. Our model centers on helping aspiring coaches and facilitators develop emotional steadiness, healthy boundaries, and practices that allow them to support clients from a grounded and stable place.
Understanding Military Identity
Veterans carry unique psychological and cultural experiences that shape their healing needs. The Heroic Hearts Process honors military identity, service, and trauma exposure, creating supportive and trauma-informed environments where veterans feel understood, respected, and safe to open up.
Preparation & Integration
The healing process begins long before a psychedelic session and continues long after it ends. This training builds the competencies required to support care before and after the experience. It emphasizes structured preparation that builds trust, clarity, and the internal orientation needed for lasting progress, along with integration practices that help translate insight into real-world application.
Community Healing
The Heroic Hearts Process is rooted in connection and collective healing. Practitioners are trained to support both individual and group work across preparation, the experience itself, and integration. This approach recognizes that healing happens through personal reflection and in relationship with others, allowing veterans to learn from their own process while being supported by the presence of the group.
The Path to Licensure
As psychedelic programs expand, so does the need for ethical, trauma-informed, veteran-focused practitioners. The Heroic Hearts Process Coach and Facilitator Training is a progressive program that begins with Integration Coach certification and continues into Facilitator training for those interested in pursuing licensure in the US.
The coach training is a required foundation for the facilitator pathway, ensuring that all facilitators are grounded in self-work, coaching foundations, preparation, and integration before conducting psychedelic experiences. For those continuing on, the facilitator training meets and exceeds Oregon Health Authority (OHA) educational requirements for psilocybin facilitator licensure and emphasizes ethical practice and veteran-centered care. The full facilitator pathway includes 90+ hours of didactic learning, 50+ hours of live online classes, and a 40-hour in-person practicum.

Voices from Our Community
The doctors told me I would never walk again or use my arms. Even after regaining these abilities, I wasn’t ok. Paranoia and hyper-vigilance made my life a nightmare. Just washing the dishes was overwhelming. Now, I am starting to thrive versus simply surviving.
For years I medicated my own depression and trauma with alcohol, benzodiazepines and antidepressants until I finally reached a place where I could not go on. My journey with psychedelic therapy and the work I continue to do very literally saved my life, my marriage and my children’s lives.

After I returned from Iraq I left the military and joined the civilian world. I was traumatized, as it is hard to forget seeing true pain and death... My life is so different now, I get to live a life that is happy, joyous and free.

I am honored to work for Heroic Hearts Project, to be in service to veterans, to pass on the knowledge and experience that I have learned over the past 15 years working with these plants in their ancestral homes with the indigenous elders, to be a witness to the healing that happens time and time again.
