Training Program

Heroic Hearts Process Psychedelic Coach & Facilitator Training

The Heroic Hearts Process Psychedelic Coach and Facilitator Training is a comprehensive, multi-pathway program designed to prepare practitioners for specialized roles in psychedelic care. Participants begin in the Psychedelic Integration Coach pathway, earning certification to support clients through preparation, integration, and ongoing care. For those who choose to continue, the Facilitator pathway builds on this foundation with advanced training focused on holding space during psilocybin sessions.

Both pathways combine rigorous academic instruction with experiential learning, while deeply embedding the cultural competencies required to serve veterans, first responders, and individuals healing from complex trauma. Across the program, students complete more than 90 hours of didactic coursework, 50+ hours of live online instruction, and a 40-hour in-person practicum. The Facilitator pathway meets and exceeds the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) educational pre-requirements for psilocybin facilitator licensure.

Two Pathways: Coach then Facilitator

Our training offers successive pathways designed to meet you where you are in your professional journey. Whether you feel called to support clients through preparation and integration as a Coach, or you’re ready to hold space during psilocybin sessions as a Facilitator, we’ve designed a comprehensive, stepwise curriculum to support you.

The coaching pathway is a prerequisite for facilitator training because strong facilitation begins long before a medicine session. Preparation, relationship-building, ethical decision-making, and integration are foundational skills that ensure safety and continuity of care. By first training as a coach, practitioners develop the presence, discernment, and cultural understanding required to responsibly support veterans and their families, skills that directly translate into effective, grounded facilitation.

This progression reflects our belief that facilitation is not a standalone role, but an extension of deep relational work. It helps ensure that those holding space during psilocybin sessions are not only technically trained, but well-prepared to support the full arc of the healing process.

About

Heroic Hearts Project

Heroic Hearts Project (HHP) exists to help veterans and their loved ones heal from the impacts of military trauma by providing and expanding access to effective, life-saving psychedelic care. Through direct programs, community support, education and training, research, and advocacy, we address urgent needs within the veteran community while driving long-term change to make this care more widely available.

Education and training are a core pillar of how HHP serves veterans and their families. This work includes developing standards of care, training coaches and facilitators, supporting peer leadership, and sharing practical knowledge that strengthens the ecosystem around veteran healing. By investing in education, HHP helps ensure veterans and their loved ones are supported by skilled, ethical, and well-prepared practitioners, both within our programs and throughout the broader community.

The Heroic Hearts Process Coach and Facilitator Training is one initiative within this broader educational mission, preparing practitioners who are strong in their craft and uniquely equipped to support the veteran community and their families.
